Praying for the Peace of Israel
Today Israel is facing a plethora of problems that our media does not inform us of therefore most believers are in the dark as to what to pray for in regards to Israel. For example, in a recent article in one of the Israeli newspapers detailed the fact that every Israeli citizen is in danger of missile attacks from Hamas and Hizbullah and shows that from the time that the siren sounds that the people have up to sixty seconds to find shelter.
We were in Israel earlier this month and I can tell you that it is still very safe however, the reality exists that rockets could hit in the area. We are told in the scriptures that we need to pray for the peace of Jerusalem yet I believe that we need to pray with specifics and not with just generalities. We should pray for Israel’s defenders that they will have courage and know that there are those around the world that are behind them and pray for them. We need to pray for the political leaders of the Land of Israel that they will have wisdom in dealing with the internal as well as external challenges that they face. We need to pray for rain for the land. When we were there in March and April the lake was down 4 ½ meters because they had not had much rain or snow in the highlands.
I am working on a new presentation to bring into the churches that will fill the people in on the things that are happening in Israel and how we can start to pray more effectively for the Land.
